TIH, IITG is the core of IIT Guwahati Technology Innovation and Development Foundation (TIDF) and an independent body and a Section 8 company with its registered office in Assam and under NM- ICPS (National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India.
Our Aim is to design and develop technologies of national and international importance for underwater application.
Several technologies are intended to be developed in this project through three schemes viz., (i) expert & research-driven approach, (ii) development of products/prototypes from existing knowledge, and (iii) product delivery in specific sectors.
We are exploring siz schemes to generate revenue viz., (i) Revenue through training schools, (ii) Revenue through CoE (iii) Revenue through start-ups, (iv) Revenue through collaborating institutes, (v) Revenue through Sponsored Ph.D. & M. Tech programs, and (vi) Revenue through Product’s IP.
Fellowship is provided to Doctoral, Post-Doctoral & Masters students through a Centre of Intelligent Cyber Physical Systems (CICPS) of IIT Guwahati. We are organizing the preliminary and advanced skill development workshops, seminars, short-term courses, grand challenges and conferences through the CICPS.
We are having foreign collaborators from New York University, USA, and Taiwan Ocean Research Institute (TORI). This Hub has obtained expression of interest from several industries. International collaborations with the researchers working in the reputed institutes abroad on the underwater technologies are intended
TIH-IITG is providing a platform for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Start-Up Ecosystem with the financial support for the Start-ups, Young and Aspiring technology entrepreneurs, and entrepreneur in residence in the domain of underwater exploration through several schemes.
The primary focus of the CoE will be on providing the manufacturing facility of different products related to the CPS. The crucial products such as mechanical structures, motors, electronics devices, mechanical devices, controllers, actuators, sensors, etc. will be in-house designed and manufactured.
